BLURB: In Boy, Roald Dahl recounts his days as a child growing up in England. From his years as a prankster at boarding school to his envious position as a chocolate tester for Cadbury's, Roald Dahl's boyhood was as full of excitement and the unexpected as are his world-famous, best-selling books. Packed with anecdotes -- some funny, some painful, all interesting -- this is a book that's sure to please.

EXPECTATIONS: Another childhood book I had no expectations about. I think I might be going through an emotional journey right now... these childhood books are iconic.

THE WORLD: Our normal world. It starts off in Wales, UK.

CHARACTERS: It's an autobiography of the author so the main character is himself. He tells the story of his childhood and teenage years mostly up until the 1930s. He introduces us his family and his friends and all the places where he lived or visited.

ROMANCE: No romance.

GOOD: What I liked about this book is that he tells the story in such a child-friendly way that you don't even catch up on certain things but when you read it after a few years, as an adult, you realize his life was actually quite a hard one. I don't really read autobiographies but his narration is very good and keeps you entertained, it's a creative way of telling your own story.

BAD: Nothing I can remember.

OVERALL: 5 stars and goes to favorites. If you're a fan of Roald's books but don't know much about him I recommend you to read this book. He writes his own life as it he was narrating any other of his children's books. It's very entertaining but informative at the same time.
